Hop Nepal never adds extra charges to homestays. Our mission is simple: support local hosts, protect authentic village life, and help travellers experience the real Nepal.

Nestled amidst the enchanting landscapes, Khalte Gaun is a village renowned for its bountiful orange farms. The Suntalabari Community Homestay Project, overseen by a dedicated management committee, allows visitors to immerse themselves in the charm of this region, aptly named Sunatal Bari, which translates to "the orange farm.

" To reach the homestay, guests can first travel to Pokhara from Kathmandu either by air or road, and then continue their journey to Khalte via Triyasi, conveniently located along the Siddharta Highway. The village of Khalte offers a plethora of attractions and activities to captivate visitors. The region is celebrated for its thriving orange farms, where the locals cultivate and sell an abundance of crops and fruits, with oranges being the prominent highlight.

Nature lovers will appreciate the presence of two mesmerizing waterfalls, Basanti Jharna and Khalte Jharana, which offer opportunities for canoeing amidst picturesque surroundings. For breathtaking panoramic views of the majestic mountains, the Budhakot View Tower provides a vantage point that promises awe-inspiring vistas. Khalte is also home to several revered Hindu temples, including Shiva Ji Mandir, Kanchi Manakamana Mandir, Batakharka Bhagwati Mandir, and Malika Mandir, where a 200-year-old silk-cotton tree stands as a testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of the region.

The Suntala Bari Community Homestay is operated by seven Gurung families out of the 35 residing in this charming village. The Gurung community warmly welcomes visitors and takes pride in sharing their cultural traditions, including the vibrant Sorathi and Jhyame dances that reflect the essence of their heritage.

During their stay at the homestay, guests are treated to meals prepared with organic vegetables, showcasing the authentic flavors of Nepalese cuisine. Moreover, visitors have the opportunity to savor regional delicacies and beverages, offering a delightful culinary experience.
